Turns out I’ve returned to Tumblr however briefly. Anything happened on here since I’ve been away?
Why not? It’s popular at the moment. I’ve just had my first full day here and it’s been much better than I expected. Not that my expectations were high, but the people (or at least my flatmates) are a pretty decent bunch. I’ve just had the kiss of life of Internet breathed into my computer today after yesterday the library very nicely told me to piss off, even though they should have been open for another 15 minutes. I’m happy now, yesterday I was having internet withdrawal symptoms.
Everybody else seems to be having a party in the kitchen at the moment. I would join them, but partying isn’t really my scene. They’ve invited a few others over, and I’m not sure what I make of them yet. Nobody has heard of Hereford here. ‘Where’s that?’ they ask. ‘In Herefordshire.’ I reply cheerily, if with exasperation. Not that geography is a particular strong point for some. Which African country is Dundee in?
Still, I’m happy as long as I’m given enough space, not much sound comes through from the kitchen. They’re looking for me as it happens. I’ve just been described as ‘the blonde guy’. I’ll take it as a compliment.
That’s all I’m going to write for now. I haven’t used Tumblr much since I got it, so perhaps I can make it useful now. Bye all.
At last an excuse to go on Tumblr again. Try this for size http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxJoMIFDTSs
I have been considering writing a regular blog for a long time. Whilst I doubt this one will be regular, I must at least make a start, if only to convince myself why I shouldn’t blog very often.
The main reason I have been reluctant to start is that I have little to write about. I considered political blogging, but ruled this out quickly, as it will alienate a good sum of potential readers, and divide the rest (i.e. half will hate me).
I thought about writing about topical events, but I don’t think there’s that much left to add to any of them.
So I will have to confine myself to writing about trivial things, and we will have to see how this pans out.

Self-explanatory.
One clicks on Matt Le Good’s profile, and one clicks on the “Follow” button in the top right hand corner.
I tried that. On my computer he does not seem to have a follow button to press.
As I know if I don’t, then I will be even further out of touch with the people I know, I have decided to join Tumblr and see what all the fuss is about. I might write up some things on here, and I also may not. Hopefully this will be a bigger success for me than Twitter was.
Yours,
Matt Taylor, hereafter known as John Russ.
